I am the President (2nd family generation) of an Architecture, Engineering, and Land Surveying company. Have you ever read the book Rocket Fuel, if so what do you think of the idea of an Integrator paired with a Visionary? Our management team is made up of architects, engineers, and surveyors that know things we should implement and enforce, but we never prioritize it above our billable work. I think the Intergrator makes sense, basically it would be a person who’s job was to implement and enforce the business ideas that we come up with. Thoughts?
As you have identified, someone has to lead – not just do the day to day billable work, Jim. If no one envisions and plans for a different business for a different future, where will you be in 5-10 years? You’re onto something here!
