Why Does Consulting Work?

There comes a point at which every business leader needs guidance, a different perspective, and an objective eye through which to observe challenges. Having said that – and let’s be perfectly honest; consultants don’t have the greatest of reputations – it’s not always easy to turn to a coach.
Listen to our blog this week as Wayne narrates real life examples and presents his opinion on one key reason why consulting really works with family businesses. We look forward to hearing your opinions, thoughts, and comments.

  1. Agreed. And by the way, I thoroughly enjoyed the book recommendation, “It’s Your Ship”. A must read.
    Barron C. Harbin

    • It’s a great, simple book isn’t it, Barron?

  2. Great topic and perspective Wayne. I also think that consulting works because it’s impossible for most of us to see our own faults. We’re too close to the subject matter. A marriage counselor cannot counsel his/her own marriage, a barber cannot cut his/her own hair, a doctor cannot operate on himself. If we want to truly make improvements in our work or lives, we need others (experts in that given field) with an unbiased perspective to observe what is real and tell us how to make those improvements.
    Keep up the great work.

    • We’re definitely on the same page, George. Thanks
